Booster Club Board Meeting
The next Booster Club meeting will be February 13th at 6:30 pm at Rogers High School.
Rogers' wrestlers place 4th at Royal Rumble
The Royals hosted the eight-team tournament this past weekend. They also took on Big Lake.
ROYAL RUMBLE
(Feb 4.) The Royals opened the tournament with a victory, but fell in their final two matches to finish fourth overall.
"The kids wrestled well today," said Rogers coach Chris Donnay. "Not having [Connor] Larson came into play today, giving up 12 points to start matches is just too much to overcome."
Individually for Rogers:
¥ Sophomore Kyle Ysteboe at 113 pounds went 1-2 with a pin.
¥ Freshman Jordan Bond at 126 went 1-0 with a pin.
¥ Sophomore Philip Anderson at 132 went 3-0 with two pins and a major decision.
¥ Junior Tim Beach at 132 had two pins.
¥ Junior Kyler Swanson at 138 went 3-0 with a fall and technical fall.
¥ Senior Mike Voorhees at 145 went 2-1 with a fall.
¥ Sophomore Tyler Eicher at 152 went 1-1.
¥ Freshman Jordan Lemcke at 160 went 1-2 with a fall.
¥ Freshman Jake Owens at 170 2-1 with a Fall
¥ Junior Ryan Lien at 182 went 0-3.
¥ Senior Clay LeVasseur at 195 went 3-0.
¥ Sophomore Jake Pavloff at 220 went 1-2.
¥ Freshman Peter Oakland at 285 went 0-3.
In other highlights, LeVasseur defeated Mound-Westonka's Will Van Sant, who coming into the match was ranked third in Class 3A wrestling. Anderson also recorded his 21st fall of the season, breaking the previous team record of 20 set by Todd Klemz.
"We couldn't have asked for more then what we got out of our middle weights today," Donnay said.
"Beach had a great weekend winning a close match today and one on Friday, with two pins.
"Kyler's coming on strong and Mike had a good day. The new guys, Owens and Lemcke just keep getting better and impressing us more every time they step on the mat."

BIG LAKE 51, ROGERS 11
(Feb. 3) Hosting the Hornets on senior night, the Royals won just three matches.
"It was nice to see all the fans in the crowd from the alumni, parents, and a pretty good student crowd," Donnay said. "I just wish we would have shown up. We didn't wrestle very well at all. We had a great week of practice this week, so I don't know what happened."
Winning for Rogers (6-9), Anderson at 126 defeated Big Lake's Drew Kern by technical fall, 18-0; Beach at 132 def. Big Lake's Josiah Brown by decision, 8-4; and LeVassuer at 195 def. Big Lake's Michael Blume by decision, 4-2.
"Everyone fought really hard and never gave up," Donnay said. "Phil and Clay did what they've been doing for awhile and got wins, but I was really impressed with Beach tonight. Since I can remember Big Lake has had a Brown on the team, and they've all been really good. Beach got down 4-0 but came back and scored the last eight points of the match."
